With the wind expected to move around all day, Phil Whitehead and team had the pressure on from race one. The wind was a westerly for the start as the fleet got away cleanly. The full length of the lake was used for the 1st beat, but part way up it all changed. Swinging to the north making the 1st mark a fetch for most of the sailors. After a short hitch to a spreader it then turned east for a beat the leading sailors then more to the south east for the chasing sailors who then fetched the mark followed by a run to the leeward mark. The leading boats then got clean away as they fetched the windward mark again. The chasing fleet couldn’t stop laughing as holes, gusts, you name it as it blew from every direction to the windward mark. As the leading boats heard the shortened course signal they then went around the wrong mark and had to retrace. This gave a very much deserved result as Matthew Escritt sailing his Topper finished 1st on corrected time with Keith and Hannah Escritt 2nd in their 29er, and Matthews Dad, Ian 3rd in his Laser. Family domination!

Race 2 and a much shorter course as the winds were still playing up. Another good start and beat to the 1st mark and run down. Another beat to another mark and run down again but then it all went wild again. The leading boats were beating to the leeward mark in difficult condition as the wind died completely. As Phil shortened the course for the leaders the chasing boats were becalmed but then had some luck as they all reached the leeward mark in new wind. 14 boats then crossed over the line within 2 minutes. Brian and Margaret Hayward took the win in their Hornet from Keith and Hannah, with Mick & Mark Pullin in their ISO 3rd.

Race 3 was delayed but then the wind switched back to the west and built to a decent f2 - f3. Question is would it hold this time. The full lake was set out again. Clean away for all the sailors and no major problems. The wind did hold and this let Terry Pressdee in a Musto Skiff get away to win the race. With Keith and Hannah 2nd, and Neil Barret / Sophie Jones close behind in 3rd.

Overall results showed the value of consistency  as Keith and Hannah Escritt finished 1st overall on the day in their 29er having finishing second in every race.
