BOAT PARK:  Any boat where we do not know who it belongs to, or appears to have been abbandoned, will be moved to a holding area, and will be disposed of subject to Club Rules if not claimed.

MAIN GATE LOCK: The Combination Padlock has been removed after several security breaches.  It has been replaced by a new key operated high security padlock as the old one has gone missing. Please contact the membership secretary to purchase a key.

>Two Youth members of YDSC have just won the Mirror European Junior Championship in Sligo Ireland!! More info here

>Two of our young members will shortly be undertaking the mammoth task of sailing non stop for the whole of the famous 24 hr race in Southport. A huge challenge - and they're doing it for the very worthy cause of the Sailing4Cancer charity.

   They deserve our support and of course donations - please help

   Ben and Jamie are members of YDSC and Pennine SC  
Sailing at West Lancs SC,  Southport for 24 hours non stop 11-12th Sept       2010. Sailing a Lark they will navigate both the course and an average  of 70 other boats  - without a break.  Ben is sailing in memory of his father ex regional sailing / windsurfing coach and Jamie in memory of family and Pennine club member.  Most teams have at least 8 – 12  members sharing the sailing in shifts – these lads will be doing the whole 24hrs

>RYA FAST FORWARD WINDSURFING COMES TO GRIMWITH! Come and join us for the second RYA Fast Forward Coaching session on 11th September starting at 1pm.

>POWERBOAT TRAINING COURSES  People wishing to get trained/ qualified in driving the powerboats please contact Erica as soon as possible on This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it The cost of the course can be sudsidised by the Club for members who help with training etc, please contact Erica for details. There is also a Safetyboat course on 16/17 Oct for those wishing to learn rescue techniques. The Club needs competent people in the safety boats so please consider doing these courses.

>Experimental Saturday racing to be run using BSC guest members as OODs.
Commencing Saturday 14 August. 1st start 1330, 2nd race about 1530 A series of 10 races. Two modest prizes provided by BSC for the top winning BSC and YDSC boats. 

>Warm welcome to Burwain SC members:   We are welcoming a group of  sailors who because of a drastic reduction in water levels at Burwain need somewhere to sail and race for the next 2/3 months . We hope you enjoy your stay at Yorkshire Dales.
